Warm, energetic, and deeply rooted in the Tahoe Truckee community, Marisa brings both heart and experience to her classroom. Originally from Connecticut, she began her teaching career in 2009 and has taught students from PreK through 3rd grade. She holds a Master’s in Teaching and a background in psychology, which shape her thoughtful, student-centered approach. With over fifteen years of experience in education, she loves creating hands-on, project-based learning experiences that spark curiosity and connection.
Marisa is especially passionate about literacy, social-emotional learning, and supporting every kind of learner. Before becoming a teacher, she was a professional ballet dancer and still weaves creativity and artistry into her work. Outside of school, she’s a mom to her son, Grayson, and spends her time adventuring with their two rescue pups—backpacking, rock climbing, skiing, and practicing yoga. A self-proclaimed amateur wildflower expert and birder, she’s always stopping to notice the little things along the trail.
