📢 Important Info

This Thursday is Celebration of Learning! It is one of our most important events, as students love showing you all how their efforts have produced amazing work. CoL is also a wonderful opportunity for you to show your children that you value their time and effort at school. It's their chance to shine, so please give them that opportunity by coming! Also, feel free to wander into all the classrooms to see what each crew is doing, and what your younger children will be doing as they get older. Classrooms open from the end of the school day until 7:00pm - teachers will be in classrooms from 5:30-7:00pm.

Everyone is invited to 7th Grade Groden Crew's movie premiere of The Bite, just before Celebration of Learning, at 5:00 PM in the District Boardroom. Parental Advisory: Due to graphic nature images, this film may not be suitable for younger children.

Summer Learning Books Are Back! Opt-in today!

The Summer Slide is real. We've seen the number of students reading at grade level drop by nearly half over a single summer — right here at SELS. Students leave in June strong and confident, and the break slowly chips away at those hard-earned gains. The good news? It's entirely preventable with just a little practice over the break. This year, the PTC is purchasing a Summer Learning workbook for every student who opts in — at no cost to your family.

Here's the fun part: Students who complete their workbook and return it in the fall will be entered into a drawing for gift cards to Wild Cherries, Summit Swirl, and Woodward!
A little work over the summer goes a long way. Help your child hold onto everything they've learned — and come back in the fall ready to climb even higher.

Sign up by Tuesday, June 2nd to reserve your child's free workbook!

The Great Skate 2026 is right around the corner!

The Great Skate Committee has been working hard to plan an epic end-of-year party, and now we need YOUR help for the final details! We are looking for volunteers to help set-up, run and clean-up on the actual day of the Great Skate, Friday June 12th. We need to fill all of the positions to have our event run smoothly. Please see the needed positions below. Also - this year we are offering community service hours to Truckee High Schoolers! If you have a high schooler, scroll to the spots available at the bottom of the page.
