📢 Important Info

Greetings!

We hope you all had a great first week of school! It was so wonderful to see everyone back on campus.

Please be sure you have read Principal Melanie Cooke's Back to School Info post so that you have all the information you need to make this year a success.

We kindly remind all parents of how important it is for all students to arrive at school on time each day.
Middle School start is 7:30am; Elementary start is 9:10am.

We encourage everyone to visit and bookmark our website! There you will find all of the latest news, our calendar, the Family Handbook and info about our communication platform: ParentSquare. You will also get the answers to most of your questions on the website, so please be sure to check it out!

If you plan to volunteer or chaperone please be sure to fill out all appropriate forms.
*New forms are required each year.*
Reminder: ALL SELS visitors, classroom volunteers, chaperones and fieldwork drivers MUST check in at the office to receive a badge. You need to bring your driver’s license with you. Feel free to ask anyone in the office if you need assistance with this process.

If your child requires medication at school be sure to read the Medication Release Forms post and get all signed paperwork submitted to the office, along with the medication, on the first day of school.

💡 Reminders

Communication:
  • All school-wide and classroom communications and sign-ups happen through Parent Square
  • Make sure you have downloaded the app (see the link below).
  • Make a commitment to read and respond to posts/messages in a timely manner.
  • Be sure to update your app! This will ensure you have the latest features, and make it easier to navigate ParentSquare.

Free & Reduced Families:
If you were accepted at SELS in the Free & Reduced Lottery, you need to be signed up for the Free and Reduced Meals program before the start of school. It is mandatory to sign up for the Free & Reduced Meals program, even if lunches are free for all or if you do not plan to use the services, as per our Lottery Policy. We also realize that circumstances may change for families. If you feel that you might qualify for the Free and Reduced Meals program, we encourage you to apply even if you do not plan to use the services, as this helps our funding per student.
Please note that you must fill out a new application each year in order to qualify. If you have questions about the application process, you will need to contact the Food Services Dept directly.
