Fieldwork Drivers
Thank you to everyone who has made the commitment to drive and chaperone on fieldwork this fall. As you know, fieldwork is an integral part of our program. We cannot create these unique learning experiences without support from families.
Crew Leaders invest a LOT of time and effort into planning and organizing these trips. When there are not enough drivers, it creates undue stress and excessive work. Also, getting a crew into the field takes a team effort. It requires multiple grocery shoppers, food preparation, and gear organization.
For this reason, we are creating a deadline. If a trip doesn't have enough drivers/chaperones signed up 3 school days in advance of the trip, we will cancel. We don't want to do this, so please look at Parent Square and see what you can do this month to contribute.
Good News to Share- Assessment Data
When we look at test scores, we look at the percentage of students who are at or above grade level as our metric. We have results from some assessments that we want to share with you.
Initial CAASPP Results- for 3rd-8th grade
The CAASPP Test is the standardized test that 3rd - 8th graders in California take in the spring. To get a sense of where our academics stand, we use Truckee Elementary and ACMS as our comparison schools because their demographics are the most similar to ours. We are proud that our overall scores are outpacing the district by 5% in language arts and by 17% in math on this assessment.
