📜 Community Connections

Seasons: A Musical Field Journal is a playful concert experience created especially for young children and the grownups who love them. Through short songs, movement, and imagination, families are invited to explore the sights, sounds, and feelings of the seasons together.
Inspired by the Sierra Nevada—its weather, colors, animals, and rhythms—this performance encourages curiosity, connection, and shared discovery. Kids don’t just listen… they sing, move, and participate.
This is music designed for little bodies, big feelings, and family fun.

đź’ˇ Reminders

Gearing Up for Winter | TTUSD Guide to Snow Days
As snowflakes arrive, here’s a reminder about school schedule changes due to weather. Our priority is always the safety of students and staff. TTUSD has multiple options to navigate challenging conditions, including:
  • Full Snow Days: School is closed, and regularly scheduled activities are canceled.
  • 2-Hour Delayed Starts: School starts 2 hours late, with regular dismissal times.
  • Minimum Days: Schools are on a regular minimum-day schedule.
How the Decision is Made
TTUSD understands that changing school schedules significantly impacts our families and working parents—it is a decision we never take lightly. The decision process is challenging because our district covers 723 square miles. We also have to consider I-80 closures—many of our essential staff travel from Reno—and the fact that, as an open-enrollment district, buses and families are on the move across long distances within our region, allowing students to attend their school of choice. Our Snow Watch Committee meets early in the morning to review data from CHP, Caltrans, the National Weather Service, and staff who are checking roads and campuses. We use all this information to make a final decision by 4 a.m., ensuring our bus drivers have enough time to clear snow, chain up, and get on the roads safely.

Stay Informed!
We strive to announce schedule changes by 5 a.m. through various channels:
And don't forget to review our Bus Stop Safety Reminders to ensure everyone is safe while traveling to and from school, especially in winter conditions.
